Hello everyone! Soon I'm gonna post a bunch of the HH Holmes pics. Currently I've moved the furniture to a old china cabinet I had so at least they're on display while I wait to build the superstructure. Those will be coming. But here's some pics of my also recent concoction of Titanic. I've built a replica of stateroom B64. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone! Here's the finalized video!!! for my RMS Titanic Reading and Writing Room in 1:12 Scale. (Note: you have to click the "read more" on the lower left side of this blog entry to be able to click it) What a journey! Three refit trips to my mini Harland & Wolff as new info was discovered and literally 2 gallons of white paint. Finally there is no stone that has been left unturned and I believe this to be the room in its' complete original form as she went down that evening.  Hope to see it going to the Pigeon Forge museum in Tennessee but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.  Love hearing what you fellow Titanic lovers think! I built everything by hand. All fabrics, woods, structures and labor of love was by me. :) 

Oh boy so much time has passed without updates! I apologize I wound up going through a heck of a time after a layoff and so things got paused with updating etc... However, at the same time I've also been waiting for the museum to come see/get the Reading and Writing room so I had to put the HH Holmes house on hold cause it's just too big of a project to have at the same time going. So...in the meantime, since I can't sit still, I made Stateroom B64 from the Titanic. Please enjoy the pictures and video. I don't know what the future of this one is but it was really for me anyway.  Keep your fingers crossed about the museum for the Reading and Writing Room. They've been...not great at communication. Also, for the Reading and Writing Room, I've recently discovered in a documentary that the room had dove grey accents and so I put her furnishings in little dollhouse storage and am doing the accents over to be accurate.  I'll post an update pic and hopefully know t...

Hey Everybody! Just wanted to give you a quick peek as I tested out the electricity! Looks so nice! Can't wait till they can all be on at once! hahaha Hope you enjoy!!

 So update for the end of June! I'm getting pretty close as you can see. I only have the ceiling to paint and install and add the embellishments and flourishes and then install the chandeliers you'll see below. All color choices etc were based off my research of passenger testimony, her sister ship the Olympic and historical books like Voices of the Carpathia, being an account of wreck sighted, and Shipbuilder which is basically a descriptive book for ships of the time. So tables built, planters and plants done, clock done, mirror done, carpeting installed and almost all the furniture is built besides the armchairs which will be coming. As you will see below I just finished the arm chairs with exposed arms. It's funny while putting in this furniture you really realize what a floating palace this was. Being one of the smaller and simpler rooms on the ship, it's still massively beautiful to me. I always just imagined the Reading & Writing room as such a peaceful and...

SO MANY UPDATES! I've been super lazy in updating and I apologize but here's a ton of photos to make up for it. I'm getting closer and closer! First off, we have the arrival of the fabric that I had custom ordered. I spent forever in photoshop (as i'm a total novice) but eventually cleaned up and copied the fabric that will be on the spoon back "dining" chairs in the room.  Then from books like "Shipbuilder" and "Voices of the Carpathia" I deduced what I think the color of these chairs were.  It was described as a feminine yellowish color. As its silk it came out somewhat "goldish" but I actually really like it and think it seems quite fancy.  Then, as I'm a perfectionist I wasn't happy with the Alcove. I thought it seemed uneven in places which would take away from the "realism" for me.  So I remeasured and recut the wood, stripped the moldings and appliques and columns, and did this twice over.
